Karim Elsayed

Managing Partner

Karim El Sayed is the Managing Partner and founder of Consortio Law Firm, established in Cairo in 2011. With a unique Italian-Egyptian background, he operates as a strategic cultural and legal bridge for international companies entering and operating in Egypt — translating European and global business objectives into Egyptian legal and regulatory reality.

Over more than 13 years, Karim has built Consortio into a structured, systems-driven legal institution serving upper-mid global companies. His approach goes beyond standard legal advice. He calls it Execution Reality — ensuring that foreign investment in Egypt is not merely legally registered, but commercially protected, operationally structured, and built to withstand the regulatory and commercial pressures of the Egyptian market.

His practice covers three interconnected areas.

In market entry and corporate structuring, he guides international clients through the full decision architecture before a single document is filed — entity type, ownership configuration, licensing pathway, employment structure, and compliance framework. He specializes in engineering what he calls Soft Landing mechanisms for foreign companies — structured approaches that bypass bureaucratic bottlenecks and accelerate the path from incorporation to operational reality. He handles cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures, agency and distribution agreements, FIDIC-governed construction contracts, and commercial contracts designed to protect foreign parties dealing with Egyptian counterparties.

In dispute resolution, Karim represents foreign entities in high-stakes arbitration before the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration under CRCICA rules, with a consistent focus on enforceable outcomes rather than theoretical legal positions. The firm’s litigation department, which he leads, accepts exclusively high-stakes commercial matters — disputes where the value, complexity, and strategic significance justify the deployment of senior legal expertise and the full resources of an institutional legal team.

In compliance and ongoing legal infrastructure, Karim leads the firm’s compliance operating system — a fully managed model that maps each client’s legal obligations under both universal Egyptian requirements and activity-specific regulatory frameworks, structures a dedicated data room per obligation, and monitors fulfillment continuously. This system ensures that international companies operating in Egypt maintain the same compliance discipline they apply in every other jurisdiction they take seriously.

Karim El Sayed holds a Master of Laws from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and is a member of the Egyptian Bar Association. He advises clients in Arabic, English, and Italian.
